LO4: Market Trends
Mirrors Edge has a smiler free-running system to ours, therefore I took a look at there target audience. Mirrors Edge was made by Dice and published by EA, this meant it was available everywhere and on the same platform as us. The sold 2.5 million copies, if Venom sales are anything nearer this we will make a profit, as we projecting sales of 300,00 and we would make £488,000 but we make £17,400,00 with 2. million sales however mirrors edge was made in 2008 so I would say sell the same amount as we will not be in store. This means they are not a rival game, as the only sales Mirror Edge will make s likely to be pre owned, so we do not need to compete with them for buyers.
We don't tend to have the amount of bugs and bad coding but we would like their figures. in 2014 Ubisoft realised Assassin Creed Unity a game where the player plays as an assassin in the revolution of France. This is part of series of game what has a massive cult following. So we would aspect the 10 Millions sales what they got. This could be a competitor but we are set in the future so we shouldn't clash but we will have a similar target audience this so I would take inspiration from controls so that it is easier to learn.
LO4: Level Example
First level opening cut scene:
Heavy breathing
An alarm sounds, a man grunts and sits up in his prison bed. He dodges the feet dangling down from the bed above and moves to the sink next to the toilet, he washes his face and turns. The man walks to the bars, and grabs the bars and looks at the passing convicts.
"Arccchhhheeerrr, sleep well pretty?" The man looks at the character who addressed him. He has a menacing smile on his face, another alarm sounds and the man leaves and joins the line of convicts to get to the outside ground.
"We on for today still?" a voice whispers in the mans ear.
"Yes, be ready five minutes after getting outside."
First Level, second cut scene post tutorial:
The player gains control, a short tutorial leads to the player grabbing the equipment needed to break out
The player walks to the phone in the ground and rings.
"Hello."
"We are all set, but here’s the catch"
"Great, what do I need to do?"
"Kill the warden."
"I haven't planned this?!"
"Do it, or we shall leave you."
"This was not part of the agreement!"
"Do you want to see your family? Goodbye Archer, we'll know if you've competed our plans."
Player gains control, and they have to complete the orders and break free of the prison.
This level is mainly a tutorial but it also sets the game up for the rest of the game.
You know follow the gaurds and other prison back to your cell from the yard.
When archer enters cell live actions
He makes his bed finds and ear pice he puts it in his ear.
He says hello a vocie comes on a tells him the options of what to do.
To get up there use your bed as a bost to get you up there.
If the player does not place the the cover back on the vent then he will be easily found by the prison guards.
Howver if he does then his location will be unknow.
Wall though the air vent you have the option to drop down into a room and get the blue prints for the prison so its easier to find your way to the wardens office. But then risk getting spotted by the patrolling officers.
Carry on into through the vent if you turn right you will get to the outside and continue your escape, "You've got to get to the guards office"
Carry though and drop into the gauds office, you have to use melee weapons will be too loud.
Sneak down the hall not been seen and get to the wardens office. Get the kill the head guard talking to him then strangle the warden, he has a revlover under his desk so player has to be fast.
The player now has 30 seconds before bodies are found.
If you went to the armoury you will know head towards the chopper this take time as you will have to fight to troof to get there through waves of enimies.
If you prepared your escape pick up the revolver, you have six bullets us them wisely. Then get back into air vent use explosives you have prepped, blow though wall and see some head light. When you get to the car you will be driven, then you will have to to shoot 3 cars chasing you to escape. Shoot the eginie or diver to kill them.
"Well done kid" Says a musky male voice.
LO4: Plot Synopsis
Overview:
Archer Brody, a family man, a social man, a spy. Archer Brody works for the secret government company, 'Venom'. He is sent out to different countries and cities, to find information or kill a subject. However along the story line there are hidden secrets about the mysterious company. After breaking free from prison and being hired by the company, he is required to complete there tasks for money and to have his freedom with his family. But with twists and turns through the story line, who knows what the paler will choose to do, and how they approach the different circumstances they are put in, with multiple endings to the game, each player will experience a different story and game. With the opponent given freedom between choice of killing a character or saving them, everything will affect the ending.
LO4: Target Audince
The target audience is aged at 12-30, even though the PEGI will be 18+. This is because just because the game is only available to buy for that age does not mean the 12-17 year olds will be able to get hold of it. So we may as well cater for them as well. The gender will be mainly male, a percentage would be about 80%, this is because the guns and the killing is stereotypical to be enjoyed more by the male audience. The ethnicity will be White British. The NRS social grade will ABC1, this is because it is aimed at next gen consoles, which are expensive and the games are expensive to buy as well.
LO4: Legal and Ethical
Beacause of the following themes in this game we will have to be 18+: violence, bad language, fear, drugs, sexual, discrimination, gambling and online gameplay with other people

LO2: Importance of reviews for the marketing and promotion of computer console game

How Each Review is Affected by the Media it is Published in.
The video review is easier to understand because we can see gameplay, it also lets you able to make your own assumptions about the game, instead of being told and not experiencing it.
The magazine review only give picture to look at but doesn't show you working animation, this means that the writing has to be more descriptive. However this is doesn't let you see for yourself what the game is like, which means this could a propaganda. However this is the same for the video.
How each review follows stylistic conventions of the media.
The video starts of with an intro to the game then talks about what it does goof then what it does bad, this has game play and a voice of the game play about it. This often the person playing who has reviewed it.
Comparison.
Both of analysis talk about the genre in the same that is a sports simulations but they then both go to talk about the go on talk about who it is one of best graphically.
As this game sports simulation they both go on to talk about the native in the same way. They both say the same thing about the career mode being boring and repetitive after a while. In this game they is an online mode what both say good but needs work as there servers can be slow. Other than that both reviewers say that this fun game when playing with friends on quick start.
The reviewers don't go talk about the productions process however the magazine does that the game works well as it runs of Ignite. But i think is advertisement as Ignite is an engine exclusively to Xbox One and the Magazine is by Xbox.
As the characters are real the reviewers both say that characters are extremely immaculate realistic and look very cool. The magazine say that they is a DLC is coming out to get Brucie Lee however the video says that he thinks its cool that they have done that but you can unlock him by completing the career mode.
The magazine say that it is the best fighting game on a console and the video agress. The video goes on to say that is hard to lern the hit componations of diffrent players but once you get usto it really good.
The video says that you would love this games if you like game fighting games and UFC, this is the same for magazine but they dont go into to age just over 16 would enjoy.
The video review say that you can get UFC on Xbox One or PS4. However, Xbox magazine says only say it's on xbox because why would they advertise for a driffrent console.
Both reviews say that UFC is a great game and recomend this to people who like games of this genre and people are intersing fighting would recomed playing it and buying.
